Adhering to Tsinghua University’s motto of “Self-Discipline and Social Commitment”, the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST) will strengthen the introduction and cultivation of high-end talents and high caliber young talents. Great strides have been made on the way to becoming one of the world's top universities and establishing a first-class SIST.

Especially in building a talented team, according to the needs of the construction of the information discipline group, the SIST has strengthened the introduction of high-level talents, established operational norms, and made good progress in the evaluation and support of the talent fund, which tries to attract outstanding scholars to work in the SIST. And, relying on the high-end platform of Beijing National Research Center for Information Science and Technology, the SIST has formulated the reform plan of personnel system, strengthened the construction of research team, implemented the policy of paying equal attention to talent introduction and talent cultivation. The SIST will strives to build up an excellent teacher team in which teachers are brave in undertaking important innovation issues and research of major strategic tasks.

By the end of 2019, there are 455 faculty members in the SIST including 176 full professors, 239 associate professors and 40 assistant professors.

In the faculty of the SIST, there are 6 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 7 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
